Darryl Howard-Coolin was born and raised in Flint, MI. He graduated from Flint Northern High School in 2004 and went to on to attend University of Michigan-Flint majoring in Mechanical Engineering. While in college Darryl joined the prestigious organization of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. Darryl graduated from University of Michigan in 2011 and immediately hired in to General Motors as a Quality Engineer at the Flint Assembly Plant. Darryl currently resides in the Manufacturing group as a Process Failure Mode Effects Analyst (PFMEA) tech for General Motors.
Darryl has served and held leadership positions on many boards and committees in the community and in General Motors. He currently sits on the Engineering Industry Advisory Board at the University of Michigan- Flint where he has been a member since 2011. He also has had a seat on the Professional Development Committee of the General Motors African Ancestry Network since 2016. Darryl has contributed to raising funds for the United Negro College Fund by sitting on its committee at Flint Assembly Plant from 2011-2013. He was also a member of the Professional Managers Network from 2011-2013, serving as the communication chair 2012-2013.
Darryl is passionate about family and providing opportunities for the next generation to be successful and follow their dreams. Darryl will serve the organization as the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors.
